Daylight Savings

This weekend, at 2:00 A.M. on November 2nd, Daylight Savings Time will end, and revert back to Daylight Standard Time. You’ll need to wind back the clock one hour, 1:00 A.M.

Daylight saving time ends on Sunday, Nov. 2. As families change their clocks, it’s a good time also for families to review their home fire safety plans, starting with changing the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
The Maumelle Fire Department is asking families to join us in this year’s Change Your Clock Change Your Battery® campaign.  The message is simple, and the habit can be lifesaving. According to the NFPA, thirty-eight percent of fatal fire injuries occur in homes without working smoke alarms, while 24 percent occur in homes in which at least one smoke alarm is present but fails to operate.

Community Service Fee Notice

The City of Maumelle collects a fee of $6 per month to offset the cost of police and fire protection and street lighting. We also charge $15.50 per month plus tax for garbage collection. These fees are charged quarterly in the months of March, June, September, and December.  These bills are due on the 25th of the months in which we bill. If you received a blue reminder notice this week, it is because your payment due on September 25, 2014 has not been received.
